This magnificent Victorian steam ship first launched as a passenger liner in 1843. It cruised the waves of the seas for 45 years, taking French troops from Malta to Crimea, as well as emigrants to North America and Australia. Now moored at the dry dock where she was built visitors can look over for themselves the first ship to have an iron hull and screw propeller.
